Armagh League Champions 2024
Our Senior hurling season for 2024 began with our entry into the Armagh Hurling League Division 1.
The Armagh league has always been a really competitive one.
One which we are very fortuitous to be involved in.
One which gives us the opportunity to play with Armagh’s finest hurlers.
The first games this year were a home fixture against Craobh Rua, followed by an away fixture against Naomh Moninne.
Two great games to get our season started and thankfully with both results going our way before our third game against 2023 Armagh League Champions Lisbellaw.
The Lisbellaw team arrived in Dungannon following their Lory Meagher Fermanagh success the previous Saturday evening but our lads hurled well to get another win on the table.
A stronger challenge lay in wait on the 11th of June with an away game against Keady.
The first half proved a very tight affair with the minimum in it at the short whistle.
Following the restart the lads in Red and White proved that slightly bit stronger and had built up a good lead.
A late goal conceded left 3 points in it at full time and another great result for our club.
Following a bye week, Cuchullians were our next opponents on the 25th of June.
Another great team performance with 5 wins from 5.
On the 2nd of July we made the trip to Middletown for round 8.
A win would firmly put us in the driving seat for league success.
This was a hotly contested affair with all the passion, physicality and skill of a Championship encounter.
Dungannon was on the winning side again with a slim 2 point victory.
Conditions for our final home game of the Armagh league against Derrynoose on the 9th of July were unseasonal to say the least.
Both teams did their best despite the weather.
However, come the final whistle and a win for us meant it was a clean sweep with one game to spare as Sean McAlindan from Armagh GAA presented the cup to Eoghan Ruadh captain Fionn Devlin.
Well done to all the players and teams involved in the 2024 Armagh League.
