Inaugural Hurling & Camogie Academy 2023

Following our Dungannon hurling Cúl Camp in July 2022, a conversation between Tyrone Hurling Development Officer Damhlach Rush & other Eoghan Ruadh coaches, laid the foundation for our own Development Academy one year later.

Our own Cúl camp was scheduled quite quickly after the beginning of the school holidays at the first week of July.

This left 7 weeks of school holidays remaining where our club could introduce our own Academy thus breaking up the holidays for the children.

At a Committee meeting in April 2023, it was agreed that this would be scheduled.

Damhlach together with our Youth Officer Cathal McErlean began the task of organising this event and to ensure it would be a week not to forget.

In conjunction with sponsors Fantasy GAA Hurling, big name guests were organised to coach important aspects of our national game.

All Ireland winning Manager Paddy McCormack & All Ireland winner Ronan Maher both from Tipperary were the first guests organised.

Big names with huge experience.

Antrim Camogie Star Chloe Drain plus Sports psychologist Oisin MacManus were also invited to pass on their expert knowledge.

It was a great few days hurling by all and we look forward to a repeat in 2024.
